Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, the Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. This ability that allowed her to get her first job as an Univision producer assistant Miami. In Miami, she worked with the producers of national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS station of St. Petersburg hired her following this to become the sports reporter. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico Border, she worked as an anchor on the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm, an anchor for the news channel on English at 9 pm and then a news anchor for 10pm before returning to channel Spanish channel. She was also frequently called upon to be a sports or weather anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She also wrote articles to the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She also served as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The same role she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta's parents hail of Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. She also has an older sibling. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and relocated to Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and in 1995 her mother remarried one of the naval architects known as Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. The summer vacation that she stayed with her younger sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten an employment. Antonietta was a senior in high school with an idea of what she would like her life to look like, traveled to Mount Union University to see whether the university was suitable for her. She loved the campus. It also gave her the program she was interested in. After high school, she graduated and enrolled into media school at the University. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a member of her class, developed an ongoing friendship with the student. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his love of journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
